Mounds Park Academy: Day 1
Today was the first time that Abby and I taught at Mounds Park Academy. It actually went extremely well! The class sizes were already pretty small so planting was much more accessible and possible. The kids asked great questions including, 'is the seed coat attached to the seed by anything?' and 'why is the inside of the sunflower seed and pea seed different?' These were great questions, and really allowed our lessons to be enhanced. We also planted two trays per class. One tray of microgreens was put by the window of each class, and the other was put under a specialty growing light. Next week, we are planning on doing a game regarding plant families. We might also incorporate some lessons on apples as well. I will post more when I find out more!
